We lost another New Orleans Musical Living Legend today, Mr. Wardell Quezergue. Most of the times had the pleasure/honor of Mr.Quezergue’s company was in recording studios doing shoots for musicians who wanted the expertise of Wardell working out arrangements and producing, one being my good friend Drew Young. Upon meeting another good friend, Ashlye Keaton, I was able to learn the real gravity of the impact Wardell had/has on the music in New Orleans from a historical perspective…..and then theres the discussion between Wardell and Jon Cleary about the history of “Mr. Big Stuff”…….then theres the way him and Mac interacted…..or just watching him sit up on stage with Deacon John at Voodoo 08′…….just a beautiful thing……We will all miss you dearly Mr. Wardell Quezergue……Offbeat’s Alex Rawls wrote a great article that gives more perspective at this link http://offbeat.com/2011/09/06/wardell-quezergue-r-and-b-great-died-at-81/
