A “Rebirth” 24×36 Museum Wrapped canvas be auctioned off before the Instruments A’ Comin show on the evening of Monday April 28th. What makes this very popular, ONE OF A KIND, piece even more special is that it is signed by the Rebirth Brass Band. Special thanks to Tuba Phil!!! Also, prior to the Injuns A’ Comin show on the evening of Wednesday April 30th, another, one of a kind, 24×36 Museum Wrapped canvas depicting and signed by Big Chief Monk Boudreaux will be auctioned off! Instruments A Comin’ 2008
The Tipitina’s Foundation proudly announces its 7th Annual Instruments A Comin’ Benefit Concert on Monday, April 28, 2008, at the original Tipitina’s Uptown Music Club. The past six Instruments A’ Comin benefits have raised over $1.3 million worth of new instruments for the next generation of New Orleans musicians, but there are still many schools that need assistance.

Beginning at 5 PM with an outdoor cultural celebration and auction, Instruments A-Comin’ will feature the city’s greatest musical performers, all of whom are donating their time to support this important cause. Through the help of Jimmy Glickman and the New Orleans Music Exchange, the Tipitina’s Foundation is working tirelessly to insure that every child in New Orleans has the means to play music.
Performances this year include Little Feat, Galactic (with Johnny Vidacovich and George Porter Jr.), The Radiators, Dragon Smoke (Stanton Moore, Ivan Neville, Eric Lindell and Robert Mercurio), Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk, Rebirth Brass Band, Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue, Walter “Wolfman” Washington, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, and Donald Harrison & the T.I.P. Interns.
Both general admission and VIP tickets are available. VIP tickets include upstairs balcony access, open bar and food, and a private set by Little Feat indoors from 6:30pm-7:20pm.)
