If this is your first time here, glad to have you visit! Been a pretty busy last few months but have finally had some time to go through the past year, at least a little bit….Over the past few months met a ton of new folks and it has been a pleasure talking with all, so many people out there from all over truly moved by our wonderful and unique culture. There is a lot of material to see on the site, you can expand the categories or older posts tab at the bottom of this page and look around that way, along the top of this page there are several tabs to activate by clicking, the most popular being the portfolio/slideshow tab which will bring you to a page where I have posted about 15 musical slideshows of some events I have covered and shoots I have done, ENJOY! I have only had the time to put about 10% of my work on the site but you get the idea of what I do, the good news is that I have a Studio and Gallery in the Bywater at which you can have access to all of my work. Having people over to the gallery is the part of what I do that I enjoy most because ultimately we all become good friends after what was supposed to be a 20 minute visit turns into 5 hours. So don’t hesitate to give me a buzz and make an appointment, I live next door and work here so if I’m not out on a shoot, I’m generally available by appointment at anytime my schedule permits! I have an inventory of autographed limited edition prints on hand autographed by Dr. John, George Porter Jr., Kermit Ruffins, Big Chief Monk Boudreaux, Al “Carnival Time” Johnson, Anders Osborne, Cyril Neville, John Mooney, Uncle Lionel Batiste, Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews and Juvenile and Big Sam Williams and if I don’t have them on hand I can easily arrange to have any print autographed upon request, just inquire for details….and you can be assured that the musicians are paid generously from your purchase of these special prints. As you can see what my passion is, I do have a large inventory of New Orleans scenes and Architecture which embody the same beautiful message. I also am set up for on site or in studio photo shoots and have many large corporate clients working with them in fields such as marketing, architecture and food. I also shoot occasional weddings alone, concentrating on capturing the most personal, powerful and intimate moments of such a special occasion. Anders Osborne Rocked the Offbeat Awards last night with guest guitarist Pepper Keenan…

Great show at HOB last night……. Anders Osborne and Pepper Keenan(Down and Corrosion of Conformity) together are TRULY something real special…powerful, resonant stuff…Some dude behind me after they finished had never seen Anders before, he kept screamim, “I’ve been lookin for this for 15 years!!!” I couldn’t agree more, hopefully we see these guys playing together more in the future…..

There was soooo much great music out there over the weekend and such wonderful people, my favorites were of course Ernie Vincent and the Top Notes, kinda expected cause I manage them too…that being said Sonny Landreth was on fire, Buddy Guy brought his powerful self as usual, but I think the shows I really enjoyed most were a couple that were on the small stage which was conveniently right next to my photography tent! On Saturday it was really nice to see JD Hill and the Jammers(used to live for those Tuesday shows at Benny’s back in the day), Robert Belfour blew me away as usual, on Sunday a pleasant mesmerizing surprise was Chris Smither and I think the one I enjoyed most was T-Model Ford, nothing like watching and listening to these old guys taking over a crowd and putting them under a beautiful spell…….it was quite nice indeed!! Last week I had the opportunity to spend some time with Anders Osborne up at Studio in the Country during the recording of his upcoming cd “American Patchwork”. Stanton Moore and Robert Walter join Anders on this cd, which is sure to please indeed, trust me.

Coming soon, I will also be kicking off a video interview series called GROUND ZERO NOLA of which the first interview will be with Anders Osborne talking about what’s been goin on, what’s around the corner and the new cd. The cool thing is that I will be conducting these personal one on one interviews about every month with the subjects in order that fans and people interested in our culture can submit personal question’s pertaining to the artist to be answered directly by email, or if your question is selected, on the next video interview!! I already have an incredible line-up of cultural icons which will be published in the next week or so, in the mean time enjoy………. Jerry

Shamarr Allen unleashes on the Jazz Tent at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival….

Shamarr Allen and the Underdawgs served up an eclectic musical feast at the Jazz Tent this year featuring traditional jazz standards from the “Meet Me on Frenchman St.” CD, to the self descirbed brand new “Box Who In?” CD. From jazz to rap to rock to funk, Shamarr and his “Underdawgs” were a definite crowd pleaser, just look at their faces! Oh, not like that wasn’t enough, Shamarr is now in the studio with new cohort Willie Nelson working on Willie’s new cd…………So how much longer will we be able to enjoy Shamarr Allen regularly in New Orleans? LIVE AT STUDIO WEDNESDAY 4-29…..ernie vincent

I am very pleased to announce that Blues guitar legend Ernie Vincent and Andrew Duhon will be performing live at my Gallery on 4-29 from 1-7ish. Andrew and Ernie have recently completed an incredible acoustic blues CD which will be released hopefully sometime in May. Andrew will also be performing songs of his own from his critically acclaimed CD “Songs I Wrote Before I Knew You”. My whole photography inventory will be accessible, and several new one of a kind editioned and autographed prints of Al “Carnival Time” Johnson and Big Chief Monk Boudreaux, both of which I had the pleasure of shooting in my studio recently, will be released for the first time! And of course there will be some other notables in attendance…… HAPPY JAZZ FEST EVERYONE!!!
