Last week we finally were able to see Johnny Sansone crank it up with the electric harp et al backed by one of my new favorite bands, power duo Baby Bee from Houma La.. I first caught them with Johnny at this years VOW Fest and was mystified by the sound that comes out of these two. When Johnny posted this on my fb page he wasn’t kidding…“Don’t miss this rare show with baby bee at dba I’ll be playing nothing but high energy electric harp with this rockin band, may not happen again don’t meet me there beat me there!!!!” Ever since I listened to the pre released master of Johnny’s new CD , “The Lord Is Waiting and the Devil Is Too,”(which will be a no brainer contender for album of the year) I have been itching to see this performed live and loud in a club. The itch has been scratched for sure….If that wasn’t enough, Johnny and the Bee’s were joined by Inguanas sax player Joe Cabral for much of the show…..a good night indeed…..
